Will it fit my Inogen One G5 or Rove 6?

How long does a used battery last?

Somewhat less than a brand-new pack, since used cells lose a little capacity over their life. For reference, with a new battery Inogen lists up to 5 hours on setting 1 in the G4 and up to 5 hours 49 minutes on setting 1 in the Rove 4. Ask us and we can set expectations for your flow setting.

How long does it take to charge?

Inside the concentrator, up to 5 hours in the G4 and up to 4 hours in the Rove 4, per Inogen’s manuals. With the BA-403 external charger, about 4 hours from empty.

Can I take it on a plane?

As a spare, a lithium-ion battery can only travel in your carry-on bag, never in checked baggage, and each spare must be protected against short circuit (original packaging, taped terminals or its own bag). Whether a spare is allowed, and whether it needs your airline’s approval, depends on the watt-hour (Wh) rating printed on the battery’s label, so check the label and confirm with your airline before you fly. For flights, Inogen’s Rove 4 manual recommends bringing enough battery for at least 150% of your expected flight time, plus time on the ground, security, connections and delays, and notes that the AC power supply can’t be used to charge the battery on board.

How should I store it?

Inogen recommends storing batteries in a cool, dry place at 40–50% charge, charging to 100% and running down to empty at least once every 90 days, and keeping them dry (if a battery gets wet, stop using it). If you have more than one, label them and rotate. One more from Inogen’s G4 technical manual: take the battery out of the concentrator when you’re not using it. Left in an unplugged G4, the unit keeps drawing on it, and a fully charged battery can be damaged in as little as 20 days.
