Why replace just the cushion

The seal is the whole job

On a full face mask, the cushion is what seals around your nose and mouth. The manual says to replace any part that shows visible deterioration — cracks, even hairline ones, or tears — and this lets you do it without buying a whole new mask.

Fits the frame you already have

The cushion fits into the slot on the lower half of the Numa frame. Fit it in and check that it’s properly seated before you put the mask on.

A cushion that’s cracked, torn or deformed can’t seal the way it did when it was new — and tightening the headgear to make up for it only makes leaks worse. The manual gives no fixed replacement schedule for the cushion: replace it when it shows visible deterioration.

Will it fit my machine?

Numa Full Face mask only.

React Health makes this cushion for the Numa Full Face mask only — it isn’t for other React Health masks or other brands. If your mask’s box or label says Numa II, call us before you order: that’s a separate product, and we can’t confirm this cushion fits it. Once it’s on your Numa, the mask connects to CPAP or bilevel machines through its standard 22 mm elbow, including the Luna G3 auto CPAP and the Luna G3 25A BPAP we carry.

How do I put it on?

Take off the old cushion, then fit the new one into the slot on the lower half of the Numa frame and check that it’s properly seated before you put the mask on. If it doesn’t sit evenly, take it off and fit it again.

How often should I replace it?

The manual doesn’t set a replacement interval for the cushion. It says to replace any part as soon as it shows visible deterioration — cracks, even hairline ones, or tears — and gives the Numa mask an expected service life of one year. The easiest habit: look the cushion over each time you wash it.

How do I clean it?

Daily, by hand: wash it in warm water, about 86 °F (30 °C), with a mild, unscented liquid detergent for up to 10 minutes, rinse with drinking water and let it air dry out of direct sunlight. Don’t use bleach, chlorine, alcohol, aromatic cleaners, moisturizers, antibacterial cleaners or scented oils, and keep it away from heat.

It leaks. What do I do first?

Loosen the headgear, don’t tighten it — over-tightening deforms the cushion and makes leaks worse. Reseat it with the machine running, and if it still leaks, try the next size. Still stuck? Call us.
