One portable that keeps up with a full, active day
Choosing a portable oxygen concentrator shouldn't feel like a gamble. The Rhythm P2 is the model most people land on because it covers the everyday reality of oxygen life — errands, appointments, a day out with family, a flight to see the grandkids — without weighing you down or running out of charge by lunchtime. Five settings, real all-day battery, and a weight you barely notice on your shoulder.
American Oxygen is an authorized Rhythm Healthcare dealer. Every P2 is a new, genuine unit — FDA-cleared and FAA-approved — backed by the full Rhythm manufacturer warranty. Why the Rhythm P2
With pulse settings 1 through 5 and up to 1,000 mL/min of oxygen, the P2 comfortably covers the most common prescriptions and gives you headroom for more active moments. If your doctor set you at 2, 3, or 4, this is your sweet spot.
At just 4.37 lb with up to 5 hours per battery on setting 1, the P2 disappears on your shoulder and lasts through most outings. Carry a second battery and you're covered for a full travel day.
The P2 is FAA-approved for use on commercial flights, so it travels with you in the cabin. It's also an FDA-cleared medical device — genuine, prescription-grade, not a grey-market import.
Where the P2 sits in the family
Your prescribed flow setting decides the model. More settings means more oxygen headroom. The P2 is the all-day middle — more oxygen and battery than the S-series, lighter and simpler than the E-series.
Bars show each model's top pulse setting. Need continuous flow (for sleep or higher-liter needs)? That's the transportable TOC3, a different category. Pulse-dose output is not equivalent to continuous-flow LPM.
Battery runtime by setting
Real hours per charge, and what each setting is best for. Higher settings deliver more oxygen per breath and use more battery.
| Pulse setting | Runtime per battery | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Setting 1 | ~5 h | Longest battery life — ideal at a low pulse setting |
| Setting 2 | ~4 h | A good balance of runtime and oxygen |
| Setting 3 | ~3 h | Mid-range use, more oxygen than the low settings |
| Setting 4 | ~2h 14m | Higher oxygen demand; shorter runtime |
| Setting 5 | ~1h 50m | Maximum output; shortest battery life |
| Recharge — AC wall adapter | up to 4 hours |
| Recharge — DC car adapter | up to 4 hours (varies with power) |
| Spare battery — external charger | with the compatible external charger |
Rhythm rates the battery to charge in no more than 4 hours. For daily use, plan your runtime with a margin — especially for long outings, travel, appointments, or flights.
The Rhythm P2 has 5 pulse flow settings. Oxygen delivered per pulse varies with the setting and your breath rate: at a lower breath rate the volume per pulse can be higher; at a higher breath rate it adjusts to keep the system performing.
Which Rhythm P2 is right for you?
The P2 is the anchor. Go lighter with the S-series, or step up to the E-series for higher prescriptions.

How the P2 compares to the S-series and E-series
S-series (S3 / S4): lighter and lower-cost with fewer settings and a stackable modular battery. Best if you only need low settings.
P2 (this unit): the middle — 5 settings and all-day battery — which is why it's the most popular.
E-series (E6 / E7): adds settings and output (up to 1,200–1,400 mL/min) for higher prescriptions, altitude, or exertion, in the same 4.37 lb body.
