Philips’ manual says to use only Philips Respironics batteries in the SimplyGo Mini. This is the standard battery (part 1116816); Philips’ extended battery for the Mini is a different part (1116817).

How long does it run?

Philips lists up to 4.5 hours at pulse setting 2 (20 breaths per minute) with a new battery in a new SimplyGo Mini. Philips doesn’t publish runtime for settings 1, 3, 4 or 5, and runtime is shorter at higher settings. A used battery may deliver less than a new one. Ask us and we can set expectations for your setting.

How long does it take to charge?

Philips lists a maximum recharge time of 4 hours inside the SimplyGo Mini, from empty to full, depending on the power source and use. On DC power (in a car), the Mini charges the battery only when the unit is off or running on settings 1 to 3; on settings 4 and 5 it may not charge. The battery has a button and a 4-LED gauge, so you can check the charge with it out of the unit.

Can I take it on a plane?

The label on this battery reads 14.4 V, 6.5 Ah and 93.6 Wh. Under U.S. rules (49 CFR 175.10), a spare lithium-ion battery of 100 Wh or less doesn’t need airline approval, but it can only travel in your carry-on bag, never in checked baggage, and it must be protected against short circuit (original packaging, taped terminals or its own bag). Airlines can set their own rules, so confirm with yours before you fly, and check that the label on the battery shows the same rating.

How should I store and care for it?

Philips says to store the battery between −4°F and 140°F (−20°C to 60°C), ideally below 70°F (21°C). Storing it above 113°F (45°C), for example in a hot car, degrades the battery. Take it out of the SimplyGo Mini if you won’t use the unit for a long time. Philips also says not to remove the battery while the unit is on, not to run the unit without a battery installed, and not to use a damaged battery.
