One distinction worth knowing: the AirTouch N30i’s own replacement cushion is a different, fabric one. This silicone cushion fits the AirTouch N30i frame, but it isn’t that mask’s cushion. Which size do I need — S, M, SW or W?

If you already use the N30i, reorder the size that seals for you now. If you’re choosing, the manufacturer’s guide points narrower noses to S or M and wider noses to SW or W. SW means Small-Wide. There’s no L in this cushion — L is a size of the AirFit P30i pillows and the AirTouch N30i cushion. And sizes don’t line up across masks: the manufacturer notes that a size in one mask isn’t necessarily the same in another. Not sure? Call us before you order.

How do I clean it?

After each use, soak it in warm water with a mild liquid detergent, making sure no air bubbles are trapped; wash it by hand with a soft, non-metallic brush, such as a soft toothbrush; rinse it under running water; and let it air dry out of direct sunlight. Don’t put it in a dishwasher or washing machine. The manufacturer hasn’t validated ozone or UV cleaners and says they can discolor or damage the cushion.

How often should I replace it?

The user guide doesn’t set a fixed interval: replace the cushion when you see cracking, crazing or tears. The every-two-weeks or once-a-month schedules you may have heard of come from insurance and resupply programs, not from the user guide. Keeping a spare in your size means a torn cushion never catches you without one.

Cradle or pillows — can I use the P30i pillows on my N30i frame?

Yes. The manufacturer lists the AirFit N30i, AirFit P30i and AirTouch N30i cushions as interchangeable, so the same frame takes either one. This cradle cushion sits under your nose; the P30i pillows seal inside your nostrils instead. Sizes don’t carry over from one to the other: the cradle comes in S, M, SW and W, the pillows in S, M and L.

Will it fit my mask frame?

The cushion attaches to your mask frame, not to the machine. If your mask is an AirFit N30i, AirFit P30i or AirTouch N30i, it fits — no other mask is listed for it. It leaks. What do I do first?

Loosen the headgear, don’t tighten it — over-tightening deforms the cushion and makes leaks worse. Reseat it with the machine running, and if it still leaks, try the next size. Still stuck? Call us.
