Exhaust holes and diffuser in the seal

The Simplus seal is more than the soft part against your face: the exhaust holes and the Advanced Air Diffuser are built into it. That’s why the manufacturer says to check those holes and not use the seal if they’re blocked — and why a worn seal is worth replacing on its own instead of buying a whole new mask.

Will it fit my machine?

It goes on the Simplus frame, not on the machine.

This seal fits the Fisher & Paykel Simplus full face mask frame in any of its three sizes — it’s the replacement part for the Simplus full face mask and the Simplus FitPack. The seal doesn’t change how your mask connects to your machine: if your Simplus already works with your CPAP, a new seal won’t change that. If your mask isn’t a Simplus, call us before you order.

This is genuine original equipment — not a copy and not a compatible-brand cushion. Masks, cushions, headgear and tubing don’t require a prescription in the U.S. — only the CPAP or BiPAP machine does. A copy cushion may not seal like the original, and on a mask, sealing is the entire job.

In short: The Fisher & Paykel Simplus seal, also sold as the Simplus cushion, is the one-piece RollFit™ silicone seal for the F&P Simplus full face mask, sold on its own in Small (400HC579), Medium (400HC580) and Large (400HC581). Frequently asked questions

Do I need a prescription for a replacement seal?

No. Masks, cushions, headgear, tubing and filters ship without a prescription. Only the CPAP or BiPAP machine itself requires one.

Which size should I order?

The same size as the seal you’re replacing. All three sizes — Small, Medium and Large — fit the same Simplus frame, so if you were fitted to a different size you can switch without changing anything else. Not sure which size you have? How often should I replace the Simplus seal?

Fisher & Paykel’s Simplus instructions don’t give a fixed interval. They say to stop using the seal and replace it if it weakens or cracks, and not to use it if the exhaust holes are blocked. A monthly schedule you may have heard about doesn’t come from the Simplus instructions.

How do I clean it?

After each use, wash the mask — without the headgear — in warm, soapy water, without soaking it for more than 10 minutes. Rinse it well and let it dry out of direct sunlight. Hand wash the headgear after 7 days of use. Don’t use products with alcohol, antibacterial or antiseptic agents, bleach, chlorine or moisturizers, and don’t put it in the dishwasher.

What comes in the box, and how does it go on?

Only the silicone seal, in the size you select. The frame, headgear, headgear clips and swivel are separate Fisher & Paykel parts and aren’t included. To fit it, push the seal onto your Simplus frame until you hear it click into place.

Will it work with my CPAP?

The seal doesn’t connect to your machine — it goes on the Simplus frame, and your mask connects to the machine exactly as it does now. If your Simplus already works with your CPAP, a new seal changes nothing there. If your mask isn’t a Simplus, call us before you order.

It leaks. What do I do first?

Loosen the headgear, don’t tighten it — over-tightening deforms the cushion and makes leaks worse. Reseat it with the machine running, and if it still leaks, try the next size. Still stuck? Call us.
