How to Use (quick steps)
-
Start the vehicle (recommended) to avoid draining the car battery.
-
Plug the vehicle adapter into a 12–15 V outlet (cigarette lighter/aux).
-
Connect the DC tip to the Independence power port.
-
Power on the concentrator. It will run from vehicle power and charge installed batteries.
-
Keep the adapter on a firm, ventilated surface; avoid pinch points and sharp bends in the cable.
Pro tips:
-
At higher flow settings, keep the engine running to ensure stable charging.
-
Some vehicles cut power to the outlet when the ignition is off—your device will then switch to its internal batteries (if charged).
-
Avoid low-quality splitters or loose sockets.
Care & Safety
-
Use only with Oxlife Independence® (OEM accessory).
-
Do not cover vents; avoid heat buildup (dashboards in direct sun).
-
If there’s no power, check the inline fuse; replace with the same rating only.
-
Do not use uncertified extension/splitter devices.
-
Not intended for aircraft outlets; follow airline policies.
Troubleshooting
-
No power from DC: Confirm the outlet is live (ignition on), reseat plugs, check/replace the adapter fuse, try another outlet.
-
Slow charging: Depends on flow setting, battery age, and ambient temperature; lower flow = faster charging.
-
Connector warm: Mild warmth is normal; excess heat or odor—disconnect and inspect the cord/outlet.
FAQs
Q1: Can I use the concentrator while charging via the DC adapter?
Yes. The DC supply powers the device and charges the installed batteries at the same time.
Q2: Does this work with Liberty2 or other concentrators?
No. It’s specific to Oxlife Independence®. Choose the DC accessory made for your model.
Q3: How long does it take to charge in the car?
It varies with flow setting, battery condition, and temperature. With the engine running and lighter loads, charging is comparable to AC.
Q4: Do I need to keep the engine running?
Recommended, especially at higher flows or longer sessions, to prevent draining the vehicle battery.
Q5: Do I need a prescription?
No. This is an accessory and does not require an Rx.
